Average income in Namibia and the SADC countries is significantly lower than in Europe or North America. With the Gondwana Card we want to enable more people from Namibia and the region at large to travel the country – in order to increase awareness within society of the value of nature and its gentle utilisation for tourism.
The Gondwana Collection consists of good-quality, affordable accommodation establishments, all of them in the vicinity of Namibia's main attractions: Etosha National Park, Twyfelfontein & Damaraland, Kalahari, Fish River Canyon, Wild Horses & Kolmanskop, Sossusvlei & Sesriem. Accommodation establishments in the south are in fact situated in Gondwana's private nature reserves where guests can experience Namibia's four deserts: the Kalahari, Nama Karoo, Succulent Karoo and Namib Desert.
Furthermore, Gondwana offers exciting tours and trails:
Gondwana Four Deserts Tour from nature reserve to nature reserve through the four deserts
of Namibia
Sossusvlei Shuttle (Windhoek - Sossusvlei - Windhoek)
Etosha Safari Shuttle (Windhoek - Etosha - Windhoek)
trekking tours with or without mules in the upper reaches of the Fish River Canyon (Gondwana
Cañon Park)
The hospitality business provides funding for nature conservation and at the same time creates jobs and career opportunities for Namibians. Gondwana's success therefore rests on three pillars: tourism, nature and man.
